# Which children should we assess LanguageScreen?

Time and again we hear feedback from schools that the LanguageScreen assessments have identified children who they were not aware needed support. LanguageScreen is an excellent way to ensure that no child is left behind. We therefore recommend that schools assess all children in a class. LanguageScreen is a quick, accurate and objective method for identifying children who need language support and are likely to benefit from the NELI programme. 

Reassessing all children in the class after the NELI programme gives teachers a way of monitoring the extent to which the NELI programme has been successful in "closing the language gap" between the children who received the NELI programme and their peers with better language skills.
