What is included in the NELI Preschool programme?

The NELI Preschool programme includes a comprehensive set of printed and digital materials.

Printed materials:

  • 20 beautifully illustrated books, published by Nosy Crow
  • Two teaching handbooks
  • Vocabulary flashcards, Weekly Session cards, Story Sequencing cards, press-out characters, NELI Preschool ‘Listening Rules’ poster and ‘Best Listener’ stickers

  • Digital Resources Library for fully guided delivery materials

          Digital materials:

                  LanguageScreen

                  LanguageScreen is a language assessment tool for children aged between 3 and 11 years of age. It provides a quick, accurate, and objective method for assessing children’s language ability and identifies children who may benefit from additional targeted intervention support. Using LanguageScreen at the start and the end of the NELI Preschool programme will provide you with a reliable measure of the progress children have made in developing their language skills. LanguageScreen can be administered by anyone in the setting without prior training, and it only takes around 10 minutes per child.

                  The OxEd website provides details and videos on the preparation needed to get ready for and complete the assessments

                  Digital Resources Library

                  The Digital Resources Library provides fully guided delivery materials for each week of the programme including Whole Group session slides, song files, continuous provision ideas, and newsletters for parents and caregivers.

                  We recommend using a big screen to display the Whole Group slides (either a laptop connected to an interactive whiteboard, a TV screen, or an overhead projector). Please contact the NELI Preschool Team if you need guidance or support with your setup.

                  Delivery Support Hub

                  The Delivery Support Hub (accessed through the FutureLearn platform), provides guided support and practical tips for each of the 20 books in the NELI Preschool programme. The Hub is supported by experienced mentors from the NELI Preschool team who are available to answer questions and provide advice throughout programme delivery.
