What happens if I can’t deliver Small Group and Individual Sessions?

The targeted intervention part of the programme gives children identified as needing additional support valuable opportunities to revisit, embed and practice what they have learned. If possible, we suggest delivering at least one Small Group session and one Individual session a week. The NELI Preschool team can provide tailored suggestions on how to deliver the programme across fewer sessions.

We also recommend incorporating NELI Preschool into continuous provision activities and finding natural opportunities throughout the day to discuss the book of the week and Special Words to help reinforce their learning.

You can also consider having other staff members undertake the training so they can help deliver future sessions. The more staff who complete the training, the greater the flexibility and sustainability of the programme.
