# A pupil in our NELI group has been absent, should they join the next group session? How do I catch them up?

Even if a child has missed the last few NELI sessions its beneficial for them to join in with NELI group activities as soon as they return. Individual sessions can be used to tailor content to the needs of the children and can be used as opportunities to teach the key vocabulary the child missed when they were absent.
